MADERA, Calif. – Valley Children’s Hospital released its annual IRS filing for fiscal year 2025 on Friday, outlining the organization’s financial performance, community investments and efforts to expand access to pediatric care across Central California.
As a non-profit organization, Valley Children’s makes its IRS Form 990 available for public review each year, providing detailed information about the hospital’s finances, governance and community benefit.
“Transparency is critical to our reputation and our community,” said William Chaltraw, Jr., president and chief administrative officer of Valley Children’s Hospital. “It is important that our families, teams, donors and community members understand how we manage our resources and prepare Valley Children’s to meet the healthcare needs of patients today and for generations to come.”
Key highlights from the Fiscal Year 2025 data include:
- Approximately $974 million in total expenses and more than $1.1 billion in total revenue, supporting the organization’s mission of providing high-quality pediatric healthcare for the 1.3 million children in our service area.
- $2.13 billion in net assets, including 489 days cash on hand, demonstrating the strong financial position needed to keep the hospital’s doors open and sustain highly specialized pediatric services. A sound, diversified investment strategy provides a critical safety net as the hospital navigates funding uncertainty.
- Nearly $76 million in community benefits, as narrowly defined by federal reporting standards.
- More than $48 million to pay unreimbursed Medicaid costs, charity care and financial assistance, helping ensure children receive care, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.
