FRESNO, Calif. – Each football season, Valley Children’s Healthcare teams up with Fresno State for a once-in-a-lifetime experience for patients. At every home football game, one Valley Children’s patient is selected to be the Kid Captain of the game.
At the Bulldogs’ matchup against Sacramento State on September 12, 8-year-old Arthur will be part of the coin toss and on-field festivities.
Arthur receives expert care from the specialists in the Muscular Dystrophy Clinic at Valley Children’s. Those that know Arthur best describe him as smart and creative, and he dreams of one day becoming an archaeologist so he can mine for fossils.

Saturday’s game will be especially exciting for Arthur as it marks his very first in-person football game.
You can cheer on Arthur and the ‘Dogs at Valley Children’s Stadium on Saturday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m. To learn more about the neuromuscular clinic at Valley Children’s, click here.
