Valley Children’s Earns Transparency Recognition from The Leapfrog Group

MADERA, Calif. – Valley Children’s Hospital has earned the Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge, a distinction awarded to healthcare organizations that demonstrate a commitment to openness by voluntarily participating in Leapfrog’s annual hospital surveys.

“Transparency is fundamental to who we are as an organization because it builds trust, drives continuous improvement and helps families make informed decisions about their child’s care,” said William Chaltraw, Jr., president and chief administrative officer of Valley Children’s Hospital. “By fostering a culture of transparency, we hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards while ultimately improving the care and experience we provide to patients and families.”

The Leapfrog Group is a national nonprofit organization that works to improve healthcare quality and patient safety by collecting, analyzing and publicly reporting hospital performance data. Patients, employers and other stakeholders can use this information to make informed healthcare decisions, the organization says.

The Full Transparency Badge recognizes hospitals across the country that complete all sections of Leapfrog’s annual surveys and publicly report data on patient safety and quality of care.

Valley Children’s focus on quality and transparency has earned national recognition. In 2025, the hospital was named a Leapfrog Top Children’s Hospital for the sixth time. Leapfrog’s 2026 Top Hospital rankings are expected to be announced later this year.
